Jackie Robinson
Jackie Robinson was born in 1919 and died in 1972. He was born to a family of sharecroppers in Georgia. He was a great athlete early in his life and in 1947 he became the first African American to play major league baseball. He was chosen as the National League's most valuable player in 1949.
