Neil Armstrong
Neil Armstrong was born in 1930. He was an aviator and an astronaut who became the first person to walk on the moon which he did on July 20, 1969, as part of the Apollo 11 mission. When he set foot on the lunar surface, he famously said, "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom that same year, along with fellow crew member Buzz Aldrin.
